A weekend full-board Wellbeing Retreat hosted by Clare Jones, Suzanne White, Bridget Fitzpatrick and Kate Hayes.
On our Hormone Health Retreat our Registered Nutritionist Clare will be focussing on the interplay of hormones within the body – thyroid and stress hormones, as well as reproductive hormones, running sessions including how to eat to support hormone balance.
There’ll be some hands-on experience in the kitchen with Suzanne and Clare and we’ll put together practical solutions that work in individual situations. These sessions are fun and interactive. You are encouraged to ask questions and to contribute to discussions to get the most out of your weekend. Handouts will be provided for you to take home.
The Mindfulness part of the weekend will be led by Bridget an accredited Breathworks trained Mindfulness teacher. Bridget’s Saturday morning sessions will focus on hormonal health and will explore how Mindfulness can help to balance your hormones, whatever stage of life you’re at.
The Retreat menu has been specially created for the weekend and will include fresh and seasonal produce locally sourced wherever possible. Guests nutritional and dietary requirements are always catered for.
Hormone Health Retreat Itinerary
Friday 27th September
3.00pm - Arrivals.
Settle into your room and then join us in the sitting room for tea and treats.
5pm - 6.15pm. Welcome and Introduction to Nutrition
Clare will give you an outline of the content of the weekend followed by an overview of her approach to nutrition.
6.30pm - Botanical Cocktails Followed by a 3 course Dinner.
8:30pm – 9.30 Yin Yoga Nidra
Saturday 28th September
8.30am – 9.15am - Breakfast
9.15am – 10.15am – Hormones - Talk with Clare
Our morning session is an overview of the complexities of the hormonal systems at work throughout our bodies. As well as the reproductive hormones that spring to mind when hormones are mentioned, we’ll also discuss stress and thyroid hormones and how the interplay of all these powerful systems may affect our health.

10.30am - 11.30am – Mindfulness to support hormonal balance with Bridget
This session, with Bridget, looks at the threat, drive and contentment emotion regulation systems and the hormones that are released when each is activated. We shall do some simple, brief, practical exercises that work on getting ourselves back in balance.
Pause - With energy balls and bars, juices, coffee and tea in the large sitting room.
11.45am - 12.45pm - Mindfulness techniques to manage hormones and stress with Bridget
In this session we shall identify our own triggers and explore how we have a choice in how we respond to stresses in our lives. There will be some gentle moving, seated and lying down practices and introduce some techniques to manage stress.
1.00pm – 2.00pm - Lunch
2.00pm onwards - free time
To walk, to read, to sleep...
Massage and therapies are available all afternoon with Kate.
6.30pm - We serve Botanical Cocktails followed by a 3 course Dinner
8.30pm - Winding down with Bridget
A calming and quiet meditation session with Bridget to bring stillness to the end of the day and send you floating off to a great night’s sleep.
Sunday 29th September
8am – 9am – Nutrition to support hormone balance with Clare
While sipping an early morning green smoothie, we discuss nutritional strategies for supporting our hormonal system. Are there foods we can eat to support hormone balance? What impact does the way we eat have on hormone balance?
9am – 9:45am - Breakfast
10.00am – 11.00am Energy ball workshop
A hands-on food preparation workshop with Suzanne and Clare where we make our own healthy snacks and discuss practical ways of making everyday food more interesting and more nutritious. After making the energy snacks, we continue our discussion in the large sitting room while lunch is being prepared.
11.15am –12.45pm Putting it all together with Clare
It’s all very well sitting comfortably in a lovely retreat space, away from our everyday lives, but how can we translate all the good advice from the weekend into practical solutions that we can use at home? This is an interactive workshop where we collaborate to put together strategies that work for each of us individually.
1.00pm - Lunch
3.00pm - Our weekend ends and guests depart.

Afternoon treatments are available from 2.00pm – 6.30pm Friday and Saturday and up to 5.00pm on Sunday.
Early morning treatments are available from 8.00am on Saturday until 9.15am.
This intimate retreat runs from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon at Bracken Hill. Bracken Hill is located just outside Kendal overlooking beautiful Lake District countryside and is easily accessible by road or by mainline train via Oxenholme Station which has direct links to Manchester and London.
Prices from £420pp to £520pp.
