January Yoga Brunch Club

I thought I would do a blog about what I’m planning for the Yoga Brunch Club on Saturday 19th January at Space at The Mill in Manchester.
I really love The Complete Retreat's Yoga Brunch and Yoga Supper Clubs because they are such a great way to build a yoga community, and as a teacher to be able to properly chat and connect with everyone after class over nourishing food.
For January the focus of my Brunch Club is all about new year detoxification. The New Year is a time of new beginnings emerging from the festivity of Christmas and embarking on a new year, budding with possibility and promise. It is a great opportunity to restore ourselves physically and energetically, to detoxify and start energised and fresh.
The flow will be dynamic but accessible to all levels, and I will offer ways to modify or progress in each pose. I always like to finish with some restorative and yin postures to ground, centre, and connect. The inclusion of both yin and yang, strong and supple postures, will cultivate a balance in the koshas, (layers of being in yoga philosophy, I will bring awareness to in the class).
We will focus on wringing out and massaging the digestive system for a thorough post-Christmas cleaning, while creating a steadiness and presence to remind us to turn inward, reflect, and consciously prepare to renew.
Whether moving through a transition from one yoga posture to the next, or from one year to the next, lingering in the moments in between encourages us to tune in, move mindfully, and find the yoga beyond the postures.
I'm really excited to share this nourishing flow with you in January, and work with Suzanne to create a truly nourishing morning for the body, mind and soul.
